On Monday, I got a call from Amanda. Before I could say “hello,” I heard Miles screaming in the background. I started packing up immediately. My students started cheering and thought I quit. (I returned and disappointed all of them.) Miles had fallen and cut the inside of his lip pretty bad. Amanda was not sure if stitches would be needed. After Scott gave him a look over and we consulted with a nurse over the phone, Miles was given the okay. He took a nap, and went back to playing the rest of the day. End of the story? NOPE! The next night, while I was on the phone with Emily, Miles tripped on nothing right in front of me and smacked his mouth right on my knee cap. Blood, tears, and screams ensued. He once again was fine, but I was not. Now I want to make him stop walking. Or at least strap on pillows and a helmet at all times. Nothing like blood and screams to knock the care-free-mother attitude right out of you! Nonetheless, Miles is fine and his mouth is healing up nicely.
